Once you have received your brand storytelling film, what do you do with it?
Like everything, once you have a gallery of beautiful content from me which helps showcase your brand, it’s important to maintain momentum and get all of it out there in the right places. But where do you start and what can you do with it all?
I have 7 simple & easy suggestions to get you utilising all of your new content, in the perfect spots for your customers to really start to see you.
Your “about you” web page. One of the most popular places to put behind the scenes moving imagery. Using your film to amplify your introduction, is a great way to engage your website visitors who want to know about the person behind the business. And what better way to understand a brands vision than hearing it from your own voice…in your voiceover!
Don’t be afraid to put your film front and centre on your website homepage. Let it be the first thing your customers see about you and your brand. Stop them in their tracks.
Website banners are a brilliant way to draw people in to web page, making them stop, before they scroll on. Banners are typically a single 10 second clip or a selection of shorter clips stitched together to put at the top of your homepage / product & service pages. The key with banners is to keep them fuss free, so no text, sound or voiceover for these. Just beautiful moving imagery. Most website hosts & builders will let you add video clips instead of static photographs now, and allow you to put your headings or logos over the top. I love a website banner and really believe they can elevate the quality of your website.
Social media - of course, nothing these days goes by without social media playing a part. Posting your film to social media is a quick and easy way to show your followers and potential customers who you are and what your brand is doing. On Instagram, Facebook and TikTok, once you have posted your film it’s great to pin these to the top of your page for super fast user access.
I offer a selection of additional options for how you can maximise what you can get from your brand storytelling film, one of which is portrait clips (i.e. Instagram reels / TikTok videos that take up the whole screen). You pick your favourite clips from your final film, I cut them to be portrait orientation and you receive a selection of clips, with no music, no text, no distractions! And the best bit is that these clips are reusable so you can create multiple different kinds of portrait video content for social media time and time again! I use these types of clips myself to create multiple types of reels on Instagram & TikTok videos, I also use short portrait clips as backgrounds on Instagram stories (simple but really effective!)
If you really love a section of your film, then ask me for a film still. If you provide me with a specific time stamp from your film, I can send you a high quality photograph for your use on your website, social media, or even printing*. Something to consider if you really like a specific shot in the film and want to create some static photography based work with it! (*limited sizing applies here)
And finally don’t forget the footers on your websites. People often scroll right to the bottom of a webpage to understand your shipping policies, terms and conditions, follow your social accounts, or sign up to your newsletter. These things are all typically at the bottom of a web page so make it beautiful and include moving imagery as a footer behind your text.
And there we have it. Seven quick and easy suggestions on how to use film & video content on your website & social media. Don’t ever think that your storytelling film is a single use piece of content!!
